From a Utolantis perspective, this documentary is a great way of showing how our ecosystems all work together and keep themselves balanced.
The only thing that is missing, is the concept of elasticity.

Elasticity:
Whether we like it or not, but human activity has an impact on the stability of our ecosystems. 
Even when we ignore the disinformation on climate change by institutes like the IPCC, we have to admit that we are polluting our -once so beautiful- planet, dramatically.
Some die-hard environmentalists would state something like: “Human activity should never ever interfere with our ecosystems”, but that is totally  unnecessary since our ecosystems are elastic (up to a certain level).

In a certain way, we can look at Gaya as a human body and it’s immune system.
Despite what the western (materialism based) medicine tells us, it is not the “bad” bacteria or the virus (assuming that viruses actually exist) that makes us ill, but a failure/crash of our own personal immune system. 
Our immune system is a brilliant design that keeps us healthy, even when it is bombarded with harmful antigens.
But… only up to a given level, then it snaps.
Just like a rubber band which you can stretch without any problem. When you release the tension, it goes back to it’s original shape. Unless you stretch it beyond a given level where it will snap.
