Although the Utolantis concept is not to provide a fully ready made design of a future civilization, I hope to provide a framework that contains and describes the most basic and fundamental building blocks.
Building blocks like the High-tech Nomad, the Anti-corruption mechanism and many others.
For a great deal you can find all relevant topics, described on a high level, on this Utolantis website.
But there are also some important topics that are not yet filled in.
This is mainly because
– I may have overlooked some topics
– they are topics where I am still searching for a good solution
– They are topics that need to be detailed out further
For these topics, I also reach out to you and I welcome your thoughts, vision and ideas on these topics.
So please join the Utolanis community on our Hubzilla Social Network, pick a topic you want to comment on and share your ideas/remarks with me and other community members.
Topic: Parental Role:
Since day 1, I have been struggling with the parental role(s)
To my best knowledge, the general rule is that each child needs, at least 2 role models:
A father (male) figure and a mother (female) figure and these roles need to be balanced.
In many cases parental roles can be performed by the biological parents which makes sense, right?
Now raising children is a very important task which should not be taken lightly.
As a matter of fact, it requires very advanced social skills. Remember that Utolantis uses the golden ethical rule “An it harm none, do as thy wilt” which requires these advanced skills to apply it.
This raises the question whether the biological parents should be the first candidates to raise their child(ren).
In many cultures around the world we see different alternatives where the direct environment (the community) should play a very significant role also.
So, the big question is: who should take -up the primary (and perhaps also secondary) tasks to raise children in the best way possible.
